This is by far the best firesteel we have ever come across. Although it is a Chinese product, it beats branded products. It generates plenty of spark and is easy to handle. However, this might be a bit too massive for light hikers.

This model is great for beginners. Once the technique has been learned with this firesteel, you can then move on to using a short firesteel, from which the fires are scraped with a knife.
