The AURORAW Premium Cooker Box has been designed in collaboration with Finnish wilderness guides who professionally lead demanding winter expeditions, Arctic expedition specialists, adventurous engineers, and top metalworking professionals. Every stage of production takes place in Finland.

AURORAW Premium Cooker Boxes have accompanied Finnish adventurers on expeditions such as the crossing of Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull in Iceland, and an expedition to Newtontoppen, the highest mountain in Svalbard.

The primary purpose of a cooker box is to improve the safety of liquid-fuel stove operation. The box is sufficiently enclosed to help smother a fire if necessary, and it allows the stove to be moved safely. It also serves as a transport case and a stable cooking platform. Designed to be versatile and compatible with multiple stove models, it includes several carefully considered innovations:

• Magnetic Stove Mounting: Using universal super magnets, the stove can be securely positioned anywhere along the base of the box without fixed mounting points. Note: Magnets are sold separately.
• Height-Adjustable Pot Support Grid: The adjustable grid provides a more stable platform for cookware compared to the stove's own pot supports. It also allows the pot to be positioned partially or completely away from the flame. For most stove models, the grid height can be adjusted and positioned approximately at the same level as the stove's original pot supports. When raised higher, the grid can also function as a heat regulator for stoves that do not feature built-in flame control.
• Customizable Design: The pot support brackets and internal divider can be removed using a 3 mm hex key. The cooker box can be converted between left- and right-handed configurations by relocating the divider. Users may also choose to remove certain components to create a stripped-down lightweight configuration.

Compatibility & Dimensions:

• Stove Compatibility: The cooker box is compatible with numerous stove models. During development, the following stoves were used as reference models: MSR Whisperlite, MSR XGK EX, Optimus Polaris and Primus Omnifuel.
• Pot Compatibility: Designed around MSR Ceramic Pot 2.5 L and Sea to Summit Sigma Pot 2.7 L. Both pots fit inside the cooker box when the lids are closed.
• Fuel Bottle Compatibility: Compatible with most large fuel bottles of approximately 1 litre capacity. The following bottles were used during development: MSR 887 ml, Optimus 1.0 L, Soto 1.0 L and Primus 1.0 L. The bottle, including the fuel pump, fits inside the cooker box when the lids are closed.

Additional Features:

• Locking lid closure for secure transport.
• Integrated lid stops keep the lids upright when opened.
• The base tray features a sealed welded construction that contains leaks within the box up to a depth of approximately 2 cm.
• A seal beneath the divider helps slow the spread of fuel into the stove compartment.
• Extra-long carrying loops provide a secure grip even when wearing thick winter mittens.
• The recommended closing sequence is top lid first, then front lid. This is the most intuitive and effective method for controlling a stove fire.
• Bent tips on the support grid improve stability and help keep the grid securely in place.

Important Notes

The cooker box is delivered uncleaned and may contain manufacturing residue that can be removed by wiping. Minor scratches from storage and transportation may also be present. The box will naturally accumulate scratches during normal use.

Always follow the operating instructions provided by your tent and stove manufacturers.

• Magnets (sold separately). We strongly recommend using magnets, as keeping the stove correctly positioned beneath the grid opening can otherwise be difficult.

Design & Manufacturing

AURORAW and Seikkailuvaruste are brands of Wild Adventures North, a Finnish adventure travel company specializing in demanding wilderness expeditions.

The cooker box was created under the direction of wilderness guide Petteri Veijonen, who led the product development process.

Design and manufacturing are carried out in Jyväskylä, Finland, by S&W Metalko Oy.

The development process benefited from the expertise, ideas, and feedback of numerous industry professionals, including Arctic expedition specialist and wilderness guide Jaakko "Korpi-Jaakko" Heikka of Ankarat Avotunturit, as well as the Finnish Svalbard expedition team Arktinen Taival.
