Productomschrijving

The solar compass is a tool for navigating using the sun and the clock. In it, the dial is spread out to 24 hours, so that the times go in line with the compass directions.

The solar compass was developed and published by the Finnish adventurer and survivalist Sakari Raappana. This solar compass is a model improved by wilderness guide Petteri Veijonen (Wild Adventures North). A 360-degree circle of the compass was added to it. It is made by hand by printing, laminating and cutting.

How to use the solar compass:

Point the current time of the solar compass circle towards the sun. Now the compass shows compass directions correctly.

However, note the following corrections in the clock time:

Make sure your watch is astronomically correct. In Finland, the astronomical correct time is winter time.

In Finland, the time zone runs north-south near our eastern border. The correction due to the width of the time zone must be subtracted from the time. The repair is insignificant in Eastern Finland, about 15 minutes in the middle stages of Finland and about 30 minutes in Western Finland.
